Breda, 16 May 2017 - Lab Services, a laboratory automation supplier from Breda, was taken over on Thursday 30 March 2017. Marcel Mossou is retiring and Lab Services is now in the capable hands of Arjan Hofman and Ferry de Vugt. Thanks to this takeover and a clear focus, Lab Services is ready for the future.
Arjan Hofman, the new CEO of Lab Services, comments, “Marcel Mossou started Lab Services back in 1992 and has now handed over the company. This is a unique experience for us and a tremendous dive into the deep end as an entrepreneur. It is also a fantastic opportunity to show who we are and what we can do! Lab Services will be celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2017 and offers a wide range of user-friendly innovations in laboratory automation worldwide.”
Arjan adds, “Our staff of 17 professionals at our office in Breda works daily on quality products. Over the past few years, I have been closely involved with Lab Services as Sales Manager. I have become well acquainted with our customers, with whom we have developed a dependable and personal relationship. In the years to come, we plan to devote more attention to brainstorming solutions with our customers, taking our partnership to the next level. We have always been a true sparring partner as a company and wish to intensify this role in coming years. We aim to be the leading expertise centre in our industry and work together with our customers on flexible, custom solutions. That's one of our core values that we would like to preserve and enhance.”

Ferry de Vugt is the new CTO of Lab Services. Ferry comments, "I have been Technical Manager at Lab Services since 2002 and was co-responsible for the development of our Technology Group. Thanks to the technical knowledge we have at Lab Services, we possess the expertise our customers need. We are skilled, service-oriented and participate in innovative developments. We continuously create custom solutions based on the diverse requirements of our customers. Developing a new platform is always a challenging and longterm process. This takeover enables us to offer our customers even more personal service, greater stability and continuity, both now and in the future: we achieve where others give up!”
Briefly summarised, the terms Flexibility, Personal Contact, Professionalism, Service Orientation and Stability are values of high priority. Arjan and Ferry believe it is very important to preserve and enhance these values where possible. “We will continue along the same path taken by Marcel over the past 25 years. In coming years, we will develop these values further, focusing on you as a customer and on the future.”
Marcel Mossou will serve as an advisor to Lab Services through the end of the year. He comments, “I will apply and transfer my experience from the sidelines. After that, I will enjoy my retirement. I have complete confidence in the future of Lab Services under Arjan and Ferry, two genuine professionals in their field. It is good to know that the future of Lab Services is in good hands.”
